Benefits

What can Sauna do for you?

Cardiovascular Health

Being in a sauna helps regulate blood pressure and circulation by dilating blood vessels and increasing blood flow. Studies have shown that the more you sauna in frequency and length, the more long-term risk of cardiovascular disease is reduced.

Improved Mood

Your body kindly releases endorphins during sauna use, which help relieve pain, reduce stress and improves your sense of well-being. It is why we experience that magical blissful feeling after using the sauna, reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety, with preventative benefits lasting for several weeks.

Improved Stress Response

The sauna is a safe and tranquil space, offering a retreat from the burdens of everyday life. But the heat that we expose ourselves to in a controlled manner also decreases cortisol levels (the acute stress hormone). The heat even boosts the production of hormones and proteins that are vital for muscle growth and resilience.

Detoxification

Sweating facilitates the excretion of certain toxicants that accumulate in the body. Those who have been in a sauna will know, sauna makes you sweat buckets. The average person loses approximately 0.5 kg of sweat while sauna bathing.

Immunity

Regular sauna treatments support your body’s natural immunity by raising your core temperature outside the range where bacteria and viruses can thrive. The heat of a sauna also stimulates the production of proteins that boost immune function and help prevent common infections.

Increased mental focus & attention

Sauna use increases the release of hormones norepinephrine (aka noradrenaline) and prolactin, both of which are key players in cognitive and mental function. When these are released there is a feeling of alertness and raised levels of energy and focus.

Improved Sleep Quality

The heat generated in a sauna encourages a sleep-inducing response by raising your body temperature, which then gradually decreases after leaving the sauna. This natural cooling process signals to your brain that it’s time to sleep, contributing to improved sleep quality. Our Full moon sessions are the perfect slots to make the most of this.

When Booking a Sauna...you must read the following Safety Information & Terms & Conditions as your safety is very important to us and running a happy, safe sauna is too for everyone.

PLEASE NOTE

All use of The Pink Sauna and surrounding environment like the sea or facilities is entirely at your own risk.

If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant, have cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, or have any concerns about using a sauna, we strongly recommend consulting a healthcare professional before your visit to ensure sauna is suitable for you and you confirm that by booking with us you have no medical issues and that you have not been advised by a medical professional to avoid high heat environments.

Please take care around the wood-burning stove, which becomes extremely hot and will cause burns if touched - please do not cross people at the door of the sauna - for everyone's safety, please observe our one person in, one person out policy when entering and leaving the sauna so as to avoid crossing paths around the doorway or stove.

Please allow the Host to add water to the stones, or ask anytime - this keeps everyone happy and safe as well as maintains the temperature of the sauna.

Please always sit on a towel.  If you are wearing beach shoes, cold-water shoes or socks inside the sauna, please place a towel underneath your feet to help keep the sauna clean and protect the benches.

Sea Swimming Important Information:

Many guests enjoy combining their sauna session with a dip in the sea. However:  We do not guarantee that sea swimming will be suitable or safe during your session.

Please check the weather forecast, sea conditions and tide times before your visit. Be aware of changing tides and note that Sea Palling has very strong currents as well as rip currents.  Again we cannot guarantee that you can enter the sea, this is at your own risk and responsibility, we recommend checking tides, weather and always check the life guard information and dip accordingly and in the safe areas.

Enter the sea only if you are confident in the conditions and your swimming ability - you do so at your own risk.

The RNLI lifeguard service at Sea Palling operates seasonally and at set times, currently RNLI lifeguards are on duty at Sea Palling beach daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The patrol season runs from 23 May through 13 September for the summer however please check their operating hours before relying on lifeguard cover and if arriving during these hours, check their information board for tide times and advice where and where not to swim or dip.

Please be mindful of the hot weather and wild fires, please do not bring sky lanterns etc to your session.

We welcome lingering on the beach to enjoy a longer stay - please take your waste away with you. We can recommend the cafes in and around Sea Palling too.

We want The Pink Sauna to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible for everyone.

If you have any accessibility requirements, mobility needs, health considerations, sensory needs, or anything else that would help us make your visit more comfortable, please let us know in advance and we'll do our very best to accommodate you.

If you have any allergies, sensitivities, asthma, or prefer not to be exposed to essential oils, please let us know before your session so we can accommodate your needs where possible.

For Full Moon we offer a homemade Cacao blend with Oat Milk and spices...please let us know of any allergies.

We can't wait to welcome you to this beautiful space and hope you have a wonderfully relaxing experience.

We are really looking forward to welcoming you to The Pink Sauna.

WHAT TO BRING ETC FAQ

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your session to allow time for parking, changing, and settling in - please note in busy summer months the beach/car parks and cafes get busy so arrive early.

You are welcome to arrive early or stay longer to enjoy the space and connect with the community :)

What to bring:

Suitable swimwear (we don't have a changing room on the beach, so you can arrive ready to change on the sand, or the Sea Palling facilities are located before the ramp and do have loos and a shower though they close at various times)

At least two towels (one to sit on and one to dry yourself with...bring a third towel if you plan on keeping your beach shoes on inside the sauna as they generate excess water inside so a towel helps keep the sauna clean and dry for others, as well as the longevity of the wood thank you!)

Drinking water to stay hydrated (we recommend arriving hydrated too for maximum benefits  - our water is carried by hand onto the beach so is limited)

Flip-flops or sliders.  We do have some chairs and beach buckets to store your items, we recommend you don't bring valuables or jewellery etc)

A robe (if you have one) or warm layers for keeping warm between rounds.

If you're on the beach as it gets dark, please bring a torch and take care as the paths/rocks are uneven - you take full responsibility for your visit and depending on bookings we cannot guarantee an hour if you arrive late .

If you have any questions before your visit, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Hota wishes, The Pink Sauna Team
